Wow what an event!
Habana Daze was an absolute smash! This high-energy brunch event was a celebration of fun, flavour, and fiery rhythm, shaped by the incredible live sounds of Son Yambu featuring Naná Clara Aldrin-Quaye.
The music was authentic, powerful, and utterly infectious, setting the tone for an afternoon of non-stop dancing and feel-good energy. Set in a beautiful, vibrant space, the atmosphere was elevated further by Soul Mama’s delicious food and exquisite cocktails, adding a rich taste of Afro-Latin passion to every moment.
A huge thank you to everyone who came and brought their joy and spirit. Together we made the day unforgettable. We can’t wait to do it again!

The opening part of a beautiful two-part poem, composed in Rudi’s unmistakable style.
I heard there will be a salsa party.
But I cannot do the dance.
So I will take some salsa lessons.
So I could have a salsa chance.
Not only do I have two left feet.
My ears cannot quite get the beat.
Maybe that is the reason
Why I also have two left feet.
Nevertheless! I will try.
I will give it a go.
I do not have swivelling hips.
Or fancy footsteps to put on show.
I know if I do not try.
Then I will never find out.
If I can sort out my two left feet.
Then I can erase all doubt.
The instructors guide me through the moves.
Patiently telling me what to do.
I try to follow their instructions.
I still don’t have a clue.
I did things like “left turn, right turn”.
“Cuban turn “and “hand flick”.
“Back step” and “round the world”.
If executed correctly really look so Slick.
So I took some more salsa lessons.
To learn a move or two.
To try out on the dance floor.
To see what I can do.
Hoping my two left feet gets better.
On the dance floor as I move.
Dancing to salsa music.
As I get in the salsa groove.
I hope I remember what I learned.
And I don’t feel nervous anymore.
When I try out my dance steps.
On the salsa dance floor.
Ladies, I will apologise in advance.
This you all should know.
Because I have two left feet.
One of them may step on your toe.
